Ian was born in Washington, DC and started playing soccer at the age of 5. Growing up he played in various community leagues and travel league teams. He played in high school and a bit in college.

​Being the son of a military couple allowed him to enjoy traveling to different military bases around Germany to play the sport he loves. He’s played many different positions on the field but his favorite is forward.
