Leadership and Communication
This spring we will be offering a special class designed to help younger players learn to communicate on and off the field. Many children know what to do and what they want to say but they don’t always have the ability to express themselves in a productive manner.
Being able to take charge and communicate effectively and with confidence in a situation will help create better players and thus, more successful athletic, intellectual, or business teams.
Thursdays February 22nd - March 8th at 6:00 PM
$30 (includes all 3 nights)
KCPD South Patrol Multipurpose Facility
We will utilize both leadership and communication based instruction and projects from a variety of fields and institutions including universities and law enforcement into a format specific to children 8 and older in order to facilitate their progress into leaders on and off the field/court.
There are two goals to achieve with both being accomplished via similar and overlapping methods. We will utilize a variety of fun group projects in order to accomplish our goals. Ice breakers will be used to open up the students while group-centered tasks will be assigned. Such tasks will focus on accomplishing a goal or figuring out a problem - sometimes in races or points-based team games. Vocalization (right or wrong answers) will be encouraged among the members of each group in order to introduce the concept of brainstorming.
